The warehouse district on the north edge of downtown has become the city's cocktail and small-plate corridor. Marvel Bar beneath the Bachelor Farmer is a proper basement cocktail room with a national reputation. Spoon and Stable's bar serves the best drinks in the neighborhood to people who didn't get a table.
Walk the block to Bar La Grassa, Borough, Inbound for Italian-leaning wine bars and beer rooms. For dancing, First Avenue (the Prince club, still operating) and The Depot Tavern next door run the legacy music venue end.
Minneapolis closes bars at 2 AM hard. Uber from the North Loop back across the river is quick but the cab lines on closing time are real. Pre-book the ride.
